back Functional Ceramics – Mug or Cup?
November 22nd & 29th (Saturdays)

We invite you to a two-part ceramics workshop where you’ll create unique, functional pieces.
Session I – November 22nd
You will learn two hand-building techniques – pinch and slab. You’ll create a large, tall mug or a generously sized cup.
Session II – November 29th
Decorating and glazing the pieces. We will explore various glazing techniques: dipping, pouring, and applying with fan brushes. We will use Mayco and Amaco underglaze paints, as well as selected high-fire glazes from Terra Color, Botz, Mayco, and Amaco.
The works will be fired to stoneware at 1230–1240°C, making them durable, suitable for everyday use, and dishwasher safe.
